The practical side

A pedal sewing machine stands near the door. At that time, this tool was working from morning to evening. The Perron girls used it to make most of the clothing for the family members. They also made linens for the house and for the cheese dairy. It is strange to find a washbowl outside the bathroom! But it was very useful. Because with 14 people in the house, washing their hands and brushing their teeth was much easier than waiting in line for the very bathroom. Especially given that the tasks wouldn’t wait at the cheese dairy!
